For our end of summer fun day we will be shooting AR-15 rifles
Most people get nervous around firearms and that is okay and understandable.
If, you think you are more nervous than others or if they make you uncomfortable handling them, please let me know.
We will have air pistol stations that can be used prior to the live fire. In the morning during instructions everyone will handle unloaded pistols and there will be no ammo around at that time.
We want to work with everyone at the level they are at. We want you to be more comfortable by the end of the day, and we don’t want to overwhelm anyone. This is at individual pace.
We have chosen to start with 22’s because they have very little kick.
We have chosen some common calibers common for personal defense and a few just for fun guns.
ALWAYS Keep The Gun Pointed In A Safe Direction
This is the primary rule of gun safety. Common sense dictates the safest direction, depending on different circumstances.
ALWAYS Keep Your Finger Off The Trigger Until Ready To Shoot
When holding a gun, rest your finger alongside the frame and outside the trigger guard. Until you are actually ready to fire, do not touch the trigger.
ALWAYS Keep The Gun Unloaded Until Ready To Use
If you do not know how to open the action or inspect the chamber(s), leave the gun alone and get help from someone who does.
